depth in waves

In color vision, the wavelengths of light transmitted to the eye depend both on the reflectance properties of a surface and the spectral distribution of the illuminating source. Further, when varied wavelengths of light reach the eye, they are refracted differently, some converging before others, thereby giving rise to different depth experiences. As the spectrum of illumination changes on a colorful composition, experience the changes in depth that are associated with the different colors.
