white canyon

Depth perception is achieved through the interpretation and correlation of many visual cues such as size, shape, relative brightness and occlusion. These cues are constantly changing, giving us the experience of moving through space, or objects moving toward us. By removing all but a few cues and creating an environment of gradations of white without clear edges, White Canyon stimulates depth perception without definiteness: surfaces shift and edges dissolve, presenting the opportunity to explore the mind’s attempt to impose depth on the ambiguous.
